After my neighbor, Kathy Bennett Volpe, died, I aquired a number of old photograph albums and inforamtion about the Colldeweih family when her house was cleaned out. Since I didn;t know any of the people named in photographs, I created a genealogy of Kathy's ancestors to help discover who the people were in the albums. This database is the result of that research. The deeper I got in to my research, the more interested I became with the Colldeweih faminy and their contribution to the history and development of Livermore.

For privacy purposes, birth and marriage dates for possible living people have been removed and a note to this effect placed in their 'notes' field. A person is considered to be living if they were born less than 100 years ago and a death date is not known.

All instances of the COLLDEWEIH name spelling in Google, census, Ancestry.com or othr searches can be traced back to this one family. In Hannover, the name was and still is spelled as COLDEWEY. It is not known why this branch changed the spelling after arriving in America.
